Tenet Investing Inc. (“Tenet”, “we”, “us”, “our” and terms of similar meaning) takes your privacy rights seriously. We are committed to transparently describing our privacy practices, including how we collect, use and disclose information about an identifiable individual, or information that otherwise constitutes personal information under applicable law (“Personal Information”), in connection with the Services.
We encourage you to read and understand our Terms of Service (“Terms”) and this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) before using the Services. The Terms govern your use of the Services, and this Privacy Policy explains our privacy practices. Where applicable law requires your consent to a collection, use or disclosure of Personal Information, we will seek that consent in an appropriate manner, including through the relevant feature or Account setting.
This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. If we make a material change to how we collect, use or disclose Personal Information, we will provide notice as required by applicable law and, where required, obtain consent before applying a new purpose or practice.
All capitalized terms that are defined in the Terms and are not otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings given to them in the Terms. User Data may include Personal Information, but not all User Data is Personal Information; this Privacy Policy applies to User Data to the extent it constitutes Personal Information.
1. Scope of Application of this Privacy Policy
We collect, use and disclose Personal Information only as permitted by applicable law and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or otherwise identified at or before the time of collection. We limit our collection of Personal Information to what is reasonably necessary for those purposes.
This Privacy Policy applies to Personal Information that we collect, use or disclose in connection with:
- The Services and your use of the Services.
- Our communications and other interactions with you, including support requests and email communications.
The Services may include links to, or allow you to connect with, third-party websites, services or applications. Those third parties have their own privacy practices, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to their independent collection, use or disclosure of Personal Information. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third parties you choose to use or connect to the Services.
The Services are not directed to minors and Accounts may only be created by individuals who meet the eligibility requirements set out in our Terms. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information directly from minors in connection with the creation or operation of an Account.
2. What Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of Personal Information in connection with the Services:
- Account and Contact Information. Information associated with your Account or our relationship with you, such as your email address, Account identifiers, Account and communication preferences, and other information you provide when creating or managing an Account.
- Information You Provide. Information you choose to submit or otherwise make available through the Services or in your communications with us, including inputs or prompts, uploaded files, preferences, feedback, support requests and other communications.
- Financial and Portfolio Information. If you use features that allow you to enter, upload or connect financial or portfolio information, we may collect information relating to your Connected Accounts, such as holdings, balances or account values, transactions or account activity and related account information. We may receive this information directly from you or from third parties that you authorize to provide it to us.
- Payment and Subscription Information. If you purchase or manage a Subscription, we may collect information relating to your Subscription, transactions, billing status and payment history. Payment details may be collected and processed by third-party payment processors on our behalf.
- Usage, Technical and Connection Information. We may collect information about how you access and use the Services, such as device, browser and network information, IP address, usage and performance information, interactions with the Services, and information relating to third-party connections and permissions that you configure through the Services.
- We may also create aggregated, de-identified or anonymized information from information collected through the Services. We continue to treat such information as Personal Information where required by applicable law.
3. How We Collect Information About You
We collect Personal Information in several ways, including:
- Directly from you, when you create or manage an Account, submit information through the Services, purchase or manage a Subscription, communicate with us or otherwise provide information to us.
- Automatically when you use the Services, including through cookies, logs, local or browser storage and similar technologies.
- From third parties, including service providers, financial institutions and account-connectivity providers, third-party applications or services that you choose to connect to the Services, and other sources where you authorize the collection or where otherwise permitted by applicable law.
- Third-Party Advertising. Certain versions of the Services may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising providers. When advertisements are displayed, your browser or device may automatically provide those providers with information such as the URL of the page you are viewing, your IP address, browser or device information and other online identifiers. Advertising providers may also place or read cookies or use web beacons or similar technologies in connection with the delivery of advertisements. Advertising providers may use information collected through these technologies to deliver and measure advertisements, protect against fraud and abuse and, where permitted by your privacy choices and applicable law, personalize advertisements using information they collect through the Services or otherwise hold about you. Tenet does not provide User Data, Connected Account information or identifying Account information, such as your name, email address or Account identifier, to advertising providers for advertising personalization.
- Tenet does not provide User Data, Connected Account information or directly identifying Account information, such as your name, email address or Account identifier, to advertising providers for advertising personalization. Tenet does not display third-party advertising on signed-in pages containing your personal financial or portfolio information.
- We may also use information about how you interact with the Services to understand usage patterns and preferences and, where applicable, to personalize features, communications or offers. Where required by applicable law, we provide controls regarding the activation or use of such functionality.
4. How We Use Your Information
We may use Personal Information for the following purposes:
- To create, authenticate, maintain and administer your Account and provide the features, access and usage limits associated with the Services and any Subscription.
- To display and administer third-party advertising, measure advertising performance, and enable advertising providers to deliver advertisements in accordance with your privacy choices and applicable law.
- To provide, operate, secure, maintain, support and improve the Services, including to process User Data and provide AI-assisted and other features or outputs requested through the Services.
- To retrieve and process information from Connected Accounts and to enable third-party connections and integrations, including the Connector, in accordance with the authorizations and permissions you provide.
- To process transactions and administer Subscriptions, billing and payments.
- To communicate with you about the Services, your Account, support requests, transactions and other service-related matters, and to send promotional communications where permitted by applicable law and your communication preferences.
- To analyze use of the Services, troubleshoot and improve performance, personalize the user experience, and, where applicable, use information such as account tenure and feature usage to determine eligibility for rewards, discounts or other offers that Tenet may make available from time to time.
- To create aggregated, de-identified or anonymized information in accordance with applicable law.
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, misuse, security incidents and other unauthorized or unlawful activity.
- To comply with applicable law, enforce the Terms and other agreements, and establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
- For other purposes that we identify at or before the time of collection, or with your consent where required by applicable law.
As described in the Terms, Tenet will not use User Data to train a general-purpose artificial-intelligence model without your express consent.
5. Disclosure of Your Information
We may disclose Personal Information that we collect or you provide, as described in this Privacy Policy:
- Service Providers. We may disclose Personal Information to service providers that perform services on our behalf or support the operation of the Services, including providers of hosting and technology infrastructure, authentication and security, payment processing, communications, analytics, advertising, artificial-intelligence functionality and financial-account connectivity. We use contractual or other measures designed to require service providers to protect Personal Information in accordance with applicable law.
- Advertising Providers. Certain versions of the Services may include advertising provided by third-party advertising providers. These providers may collect information directly from your browser or device through cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers in connection with the delivery, personalization and measurement of advertisements. Their collection and use of that information is subject to their own privacy practices and your applicable privacy choices.
- Third-Party Services You Choose to Connect. If you choose to connect or authorize a third-party application or service, including an Assistant, we may disclose information to that third party in accordance with the permissions you authorize. Once information has been provided to a third party at your direction, that third party's handling of the information is subject to its own terms and privacy practices.
- Corporate Transactions. We may disclose Personal Information in connection with a proposed or completed merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets or business, or similar corporate transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements.
- Legal and Protective Purposes. We may disclose Personal Information where permitted or required by applicable law, including in response to lawful requests from courts, regulators or governmental authorities, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, property, security or safety of Tenet, our users or others.
- With Your Consent or at Your Direction. We may disclose Personal Information for other purposes with your consent or at your direction, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
6. Transferring Your Personal Information
We may use service providers that process or store Personal Information in Canada and other jurisdictions. As a result, Personal Information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed or stored and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, national-security authorities or other governmental authorities in accordance with those laws. Our database, our API servers and our background jobs run in Canada. The servers that render the website are run in the United States, as do service providers that store personal information outside Canada, including those providing hosting, authentication, payment processing, communications, caching and artificial-intelligence functionality.
Tenet remains responsible for Personal Information transferred to service providers for processing as required by applicable privacy law and uses contractual or other measures designed to require an appropriate level of protection. You may contact us using the information below if you have questions about our use of service providers outside Canada. By submitting your Personal Information or engaging with the Services, you consent to this transfer, storage, or processing.
7. Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information
We strive to provide you with choices regarding the Personal Information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:
- Cookies and Similar Technologies. You may be able to manage certain cookies and similar technologies through your browser, device or Account settings. Disabling technologies that are necessary to operate the Services may affect the availability or functionality of certain features.
- Connected Accounts and Third-Party Connections. You may disconnect a Connected Account or revoke an Assistant or other third-party connection using functionality made available through the Services. Disconnecting or revoking a connection prevents future access through that connection but does not necessarily delete information previously received by Tenet or a third party.
- Account Deletion. You may delete your Account using functionality made available through the Services. Account deletion is subject to the retention practices described in Section 9 below.
- Promotional Communications. You may withdraw your consent to receive promotional electronic communications by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the communication or by contacting us. You may continue to receive service-related communications that are necessary to administer your Account or provide the Services.
8. Data Security
We strive to protect your Personal Information by putting in place a range of technical and organizational measures to safeguard and secure the Personal Information we receive from you, including without limitation, security technologies. We are continuously utilizing security measures to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access or against loss, misuse or alteration. Despite our efforts, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or application failure and other factors, may compromise the security of your Personal Information at any time. We reserve the right, without any limitation, to investigate any suspected breaches of the Services’ security or information technology or other systems or networks.
9. Data Retention
We retain Personal Information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or otherwise permitted or required by applicable law, including to meet legal, accounting, security, dispute-resolution and reporting requirements. When Personal Information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or destroy it, or to anonymize it where permitted and appropriate under applicable law. Deleting an Account, disconnecting a Connected Account or revoking a third-party connection may not immediately delete information that we are required or permitted to retain, including information maintained in ordinary backups or records required for legal, security or compliance purposes.
10. Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information
It is important that the Personal Information we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your Personal Information changes. By law you have the right to request access to and to correct the Personal Information that we hold about you.
If you want to review, verify, correct, or withdraw consent to the use of your Personal Information you may also send us an email at hello@tenetinvesting.com to request access to, correct, or delete any Personal Information that you have provided to us. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
We may request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and your right to access, and to provide you with the Personal Information that we hold about you or make your requested changes. Applicable law may allow or require us to refuse to provide you with access to some or all of the Personal Information that we hold about you, or we may have destroyed, erased, or made your Personal Information anonymous in accordance with our record retention obligations and practices. If we cannot provide you with access to your Personal Information, we will inform you of the reasons why, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions.
We will provide access to your Personal Information, subject to exceptions set out in applicable privacy legislation. Examples of such exceptions include:
- Information protected by solicitor-client privilege.
- Information that is part of a formal dispute resolution process.
- Information that is about another individual that would reveal their Personal Information or confidential commercial information.

11. Withdrawing Your Consent
Where we rely on your consent to collect, use or disclose Personal Information, you may withdraw that consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Depending on the circumstances, withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide certain features of the Services. We will inform you of relevant consequences of withdrawing consent where required by applicable law. 12. Changes To Our Privacy Policy
Tenet may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date when we do so. If a change materially affects how we collect, use or disclose Personal Information, we will provide notice and obtain consent where required by applicable law before applying the new practice.
